Borgo Stomennano Wedding Photography

The villa Monteriggioni, Borgo Stomennano in the heart of glorious Tuscany. Guest arrive in couples. Some in groups. A few riding solo. Some have come from the other side of the world to experience the day. The sun is high in the sky with little sign of letting up. It’ll get hotter as the day kicks on. The bride, Carolina is quietly excited. There’s an elegance to her every move.

Bridesmaids are on hand for whatever she might have them do. But she asks little of them. She’s happy just being with the moment, as it happens, allowing the day to unfold now. She’s been waiting for this day for a long time. She maybe thinks of her groom, Nav, tucked away at the other side of the villa with his groomsmen. This is their day

Members of the Grassi family who own the villa are prepping for the day alongside staff members. The heart and soul of the Villa is Nicoletta, an enchanting Grandmother. She sits watching the guests alongside her Ovidio, a black great dane of 9 years old. She hopes that the guests will ask her about the history of Borgo. She has many a story to tell.

The day is young.

Epilogue

I have photographed many weddings in Tuscany and will be featuring more on my new website in the coming months. I consider myself very fortunate to have had adventures in so many amazing destinations as a consequence of doing my job. Italy is always special. There is something about destination weddings that are usually spread over several days that infuse wedding photographs with something different. I thin it is possibly the pace of things. The photographer has more time to get to know the couple and their guests and overall feels more included. He feels like a friend. It is always so much easier to photograph and get intimate photographs of family and friends.

Some of my best memories of the past 10 years are spending time with couples and their family and friends in different parts of the world.

Big thanks to Stefania & Barbara at Weddings International for connecting me with this wonderful couple.
