A vintage camera with a distressed American flag design is mounted on a textured, weathered beige wall. Next to it, there is a white sign with the text "NYC" in bold black letters, partially visible.

A city street scene with cars parked along the sides, a person pushing a cart across a crosswalk, and pedestrians walking on the sidewalk. The buildings are brick and glass, with outdoor seating at a restaurant and string lights overhead. The sun is shining, creating lens flare.

What is Dare?

The Dare 2 Day Photography workshop is an experience that challenges you creatively and supports you to step outside of your comfort zone. The workshop is a blend of insight and processes that will support you to shift beyond the limitations you currently set yourself. One of the things we fear is getting it wrong. The fear of making a mistake. At Dare there is no such thing. The more mistakes we make in learning the more we grow creatively.

“I have been inspired. Life changer”

Joanna Szymkiewicz

A man wearing a gray hoodie and black jacket standing at a nighttime food truck with bottled beverages, focused on preparing food. Another person in a gray hoodie is partially visible on the right side. The background is dark with streetlights and blurred city lights.

What Dare is not!

You will be challenged at the Dare workshop because this is what it takes to grow creatively. Most photographers want a method to show them how to be original, but this never works. To create outstanding work you have to overcome discomfort. My best photographs would never have been taken without overcoming my fears. The Dare experience is real, it is genuine, and it is supportive. You will be invited to shift beyond what you previously thought possible, and you will be supported to do that. Dare isn’t something you could just have easily googled. It isn’t a new set of presets and it most definitely is not a two-day vacation. If you want to hang out there are a bunch of photography groups for that. I will say this … Dare is whole lot of fun … and you have to put the work in.

FLICKS & CLICKS

Come and have the time of your life at the two-day Dare Workshop in New York City this October. It is my favourite place on earth to shoot street photography and portraits.

Here are a couple of videos from my recent trip to New York I hope you’ll enjoy

Series of five photos depicting urban scenes and a man. The first shows a man with dreadlocks, a beard, wearing a hoodie and jacket, sitting on a bus or train. The second shows a building with smoke or steam billowing from the top, on a city street with pedestrians and cyclists. The third shows a window view inside a subway or train with two passengers visible through the framed windows. The fourth shows a man working at a food stand or small shop at night, surrounded by bottles and supplies.
