I Can Feel the Changing Breeze - With Max Bianco
Spent a few hours with Max yesterday in South Kensington. We have use of a 5 story town house in semi-disrepair. It’s a photographers paradise. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone as naturally gifted as Max and I’ve met a lot of very talented people since I’ve been taking photographs for a living. A lot of those creatives are public figures and have recognition in that regard. I’m often reminded of the Marlon Brando quote - don’t confuse your paycheck with the size of your talent.
If you listen to Max music it’s very difficult not to conclude that his music and his lyrics are pure genius.
His work deserves to be listened to by a larger audience. It really is that good. It’s a mystery to me that he hasn’t been discovered on a larger scale. This is a quick diary entry. I’ll be writing a review of his latest album Harlot Moon in the next few days.
The thing is … what the fck do I know about what’s good music and what is not good music? What I will say is this. All of the other music I like (i.e. my taste) is by artists who have had their work acknowledged on a global scale and are respected by their peers. Max (again my taste) is at least as good as most of these artists. It’s pretty logical therefore that I think the way I do about his work.
It’s rare to meet someone like Max. Someone who has such talent but is so incredible modest with it. There is something vulnerable about Max. Something that is on the surface for all to see. He is welcoming of everyone he meets. He is kind and considerate and interested in people. It is something that I aspire to be like frankly. I’m very fortunate to have met this guy.
In the meantime you can listen to HARLOT MOON here.
Oh … and a SHOOT we did last year before the world turned to lemonade.
