INSIGHT
My dream was always to work with musicians. I was long inspired by Astrid Kirchherr’s photographs of The Beatlesin Hamburg before they were famous — one of the reasons I first picked up a camera.
When I started shooting weddings, I photographed them the way I imagined shooting musicians and artists. I refused to compromise, stood out, and eventually started attracting musicians as clients as well as other artists. That led to studio shoots, TV set stills, albums and singles covers.
The insight here is I didn’t wait around until I felt ready to shoot the way I wanted to shoot. I put the cart before the horse. I photographed how I wanted and that attracted the clients I wanted to work with.

the CHALLENGE
You have been invited to SHOOT THE COVER for the debut album of a new and exciting band. The band is called “The Holy Rats” and the album is called “Prohibition”.
The band do not want a standard band shot. They want a photograph taken by a street | life photographer. Do not include text in the image.
