Over the last few years, I've swapped a two-decade teaching career for a camera, stepped into an entirely different creative world, and found myself asking some uncomfortable questions about identity, confidence and what it really means to begin again in middle age.

In need of a break and inspired by photographers like Martin Parr, I took my camera to Shoreham-by-Sea and spent a few days trying to get closer to the kind of British seaside scenes I love.
